Time to do some spring cleaning! If you've driven through the Valley lately, you've seen all the roadside trash. Gather your family and friends to help us "beautify the nest" and celebrate Earth Day! Details below: Valley Clean-up Day: Join us on Saturday, April 24 from 8:30am - 10:30am. Preserve the Valley supporters will meet behind Blimp City Bike & Hike, 1675 Merriman Rd, where you can pick up a map and supplies. (Yes, we'll also have snacks!) We'll be focusing on side roads in the Valley as other groups clean up the Akron-Peninsula Rd. loop. Masks required and bright clothing recommended. Get more information and sign-up here: https://www.facebook.com/events/123535759754987 Theiss Woods Endorsements: The City of Akron has not set a timeline for a Theiss Woods' decision yet. That's why we continue to encourage endorsements from NE Ohio environmental groups, non-profits, churches and businesses. Ask your group to write a letter of endorsement for Theiss Woods to be conserved by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy as a future park. Contact us at info@preservethevalley.com for more info on writing an endorsement. Download a 2-page summary of Western Reserve Land Conservancy's proposal below. Have you lost your wicket? (Wickets are the PTV signposts.) Or is your Preserve the Valley sign in need of replacement or repair? Email us at signs.PTV@gmail.com and we'll stop by to repair & replace it for free. Meet Julia Roberts? Okay, maybe you can't meet Julia Roberts, but you can sign up for Hudson Library's free virtual program with international environmental advocate Erin Brockovich who inspired the Julia Roberts' movie of the same name. Thursday, April 22 at 7 pm. Special Thanks to photographer Jeffrey Gibson for the exquisite photo above showing a juvenile Least Bittern in the Cuyahoga Valley. www.crookedriverimages.com
